Laughter is the best medicine.
Inside this post: LAUGHS to lighten your load, one smile at a time!
Laughter.
Laughter is linked to better sleep, increased blood flow to the brain, and helping immunity.
An article from HelpGuide.org shares that:
"laughter is strong medicine. It draws people together in ways that trigger healthy physical and emotional changes in the body. Laughter strengthens your immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain, and protects you from the damaging effects of stress. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hope, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert. It also helps you release anger and forgive sooner. With so much power to heal and renew, the ability to laugh easily and frequently is a tremendous resource for surmounting problems, enhancing your relationships, and supporting both physical and emotional health. Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use."
I LOVE these teacher impressions she does!! Spot on! I'm always sharing her Instagram videos with my co-workers!
I love when she's "standing in the hall" and reacting to students, if you work in a school - I truly think you will find these relatable! Laughing at ourselves and the things we do/say is amusing in itself. Think of yourself in "teacher mode" and the ways you could even laugh at your own sayings and reactions...
Parent phone calls, sometimes they can just be difficult... The "I'll just email" line got me! There are those parent phone calls that we just hold our breath for! Many times, the things that we find laughable are things that are so relatable. When we see it in jest we just GET IT - "Yes, that's funny because that's me!!" We all know that feeling! These are "the inside jokes" of our profession!
And of course zoom: (This clip has been widely shared, but if it makes you giggle, it's worth me sharing again!) This one, for me, gets funnier every time I see it. I laughed each time I went in to add to or edit this post.
This teacher is amazing with her dedication to engaging with her students. Think of the things you would never have thought you would say until you taught online! Some of my top quotes from sessions on zoom:
"Please don't put me in the cupboard and shut the door."
"Am I on a laundry basket?"
"Oh, I'm getting a whole tour of yourself... it's making me dizzy..."
Haha, and this dad - he doesn't realize his daughter was recording a video for her teacher.
No matter what gets you laughing today, I hope you'll feel some light from laughter!
