The POWER of positivity: 3 steps to reset your thoughts.

Last week we hit the reset with some SPRING CLEANING of the BRAIN.  I don't know about you but it was just the motivation I needed for myself and my students.  

Hitting the reset.  

We can hit reset whenever and wherever - it does not just need to happen in a new month or a new season.  

It can happen MOMENT TO MOMENT.

We can claim the power of positivity  IN THE MOMENT WE NEED IT!!  

We can call upon positivity and claim it for our benefit and for our health.

When you find yourself heading down the path of negativity, frustration, or the doldrums of doom and gloom - hit your reset with positivity.

A simple mental reset is a way to break a cycle of negativity and replace that trend with a healthier, productive mindset.

A quick way to reset (stolen from Planting Seeds of Calm):

  1. Deep breaths
  2. Visualization
  3. Positive affirmations

Is it really that easy?

Yes!! Try it for yourself AND your students.  

Teach your brain the muscle memory of calm, positive reactions.  You can master your brain responses and so can your students.

Next time you find yourself challenged with unhealthy/unproductive thoughts or anxiety (or whatever else you may need to reset)  try taking 3 deep breaths, visualizing a place that elicits calm, and then saying a positive affirmation - "I can do this.  I am calm.  I have the power to be positive."

It is simple and it works.  

Try it right now.  Yes, even at your desk at work!! Give yourself the space and permission to take 3 slow, refreshing breaths....visualize a place that fills you with calm...now set a positive mantra for the day and repeat it as your need to...
